Could menopause be contributing to repeated urinary tract infections?

Yes. Changes associated with menopause can contribute to recurrent urinary tract infections. But urgency, burning or discomfort does not always mean an infection, so it is important to establish what is actually happening.

For some patients, vaginal estrogen can help reduce recurrent infections when medically appropriate. It is not a substitute for evaluating a current episode or a treatment everyone should start independently. AUA guideline.

At MedFIT, mention repeated urinary problems alongside vaginal dryness or other menopause changes.

Next: Bring the history of episodes, any urine-test results and previous treatments to the discussion.
