Men's Health & Low Testosterone Care

Sometimes testosterone is the problem. Sometimes it isn't.

Every men’s health plan starts with a free conversation about how you’re feeling, what’s changed and what has you possibly interested in treatment. We want to know about your symptoms, when they started and what else has changed.

Start with what’s changed

Feeling less like yourself is a reason to have a conversation. You don’t need to arrive convinced that testosterone is the explanation. At MedFIT in Belmont, Valerie starts with your symptoms, health history, medicines and what you want help with. Lab results add information to that conversation; they don’t replace it.

The aim is to understand the whole picture before recommending treatment. That includes what has changed in your daily life and which concerns matter most to you.

Know the next step

Your first visit includes an evaluation and initial labs, which cost $99. When results are back, you return to discuss what they mean and whether treatment is appropriate. If TRT fits, we’ll explain the available options, ongoing costs and monitoring before you decide.

Already receiving TRT elsewhere? Bring your recent labs and treatment information. Contact MedFIT and tell us whether you’re starting an evaluation or transferring care.

Questions patients often ask

Does feeling tired or having a low sex drive necessarily mean low testosterone?

No. Low testosterone is one possible explanation, but tiredness or a lower sex drive does not establish the cause. Sleep, stress, medicines and other health conditions can also matter.

What matters most

  • What changed, when it changed and how it changed.
  • Whether the concern is energy, interest in sex, erections or several of these.
  • Sleep problems and changes in medicines or supplements.
  • What you most want help with.

At MedFIT, we want to understand you and what we can realistically help you achieve. We consider symptoms, history and appropriate testing together before deciding whether testosterone treatment makes sense.

If testosterone is not the explanation, your concern still deserves attention.

Next: Write down the changes you most want help with before your evaluation.

How are low sex drive and erection problems different?

Sex drive is your interest in sex. An erection problem means difficulty getting or keeping an erection. You can have one concern, the other or both, and they do not necessarily have the same cause.

What matters most

  • Whether your interest has changed, your erections have changed or both.
  • When it began and whether it happens consistently.
  • Changes in medicines, sleep or other aspects of your health.

At MedFIT, we want to understand what feels different, what you want help with and what we can realistically help you achieve. Testosterone may be part of the discussion, but we do not assume it explains every sexual concern.

You don't need medical vocabulary or a perfect explanation.

Next: Tell Valerie which change is bothering you most.

What happens at my first visit?

We start with a full medical evaluation—not a prescription. We talk about your health history, symptoms, what brought you in, medications and relevant conditions. We discuss what treatment might realistically help, the options MedFIT offers and your plans for children when relevant.

If you want to continue evaluating TRT, we draw baseline labs at the end of that visit. Initial labs are $99. About a week later, we email you the results. We review those results before deciding whether treatment makes sense; having blood drawn does not automatically mean you qualify.

Plans for children

Tell us before treatment—not after. TRT can lower sperm production and make it harder to have a child. If children may be part of your future, that belongs in the initial conversation, even if you aren't trying now. It can change which treatment makes sense.

What if my testosterone is normal?

Then we keep looking at what's bothering you. A normal result doesn't make the problem imaginary.

We'll talk through what else could be going on and whether we can help. If another provider is the better next step, we'll tell you.

What would TRT and follow-up cost?

Evaluation or treatmentCurrent price
Initial labs$99
Follow-up labs, approximately every 12 weeks$79
Injectable testosterone$179/month
Testosterone cream$199/month
Higher-dose testosterone cream$229/month

Your initial consultation, ongoing clinical care and scheduled follow-up visits are included in the program. There is no separate initial consultation fee or additional monthly program fee. The monthly price depends on the medication route and dose. Initial labs are $99. Follow-up labs are $79, approximately every 12 weeks.

Higher-dose cream is relatively uncommon; it is not a routine next step.

Treatment options

Most MedFIT TRT patients choose injectable testosterone, typically given subcutaneously at home. That means an injection under the skin. We use commercially manufactured testosterone supplied through our medical distributor rather than compounded injectable testosterone.

Testosterone cream is another option. We explain the medically appropriate choices and what each involves so you can choose what fits your life.

Follow-up and questions between visits

Your first follow-up labs are approximately 12 weeks after starting treatment. We review how you're feeling and your lab values, check that treatment is moving in the right direction and adjust it when necessary.

After that, patients are generally scheduled about every 12 weeks on an ongoing basis. You can call, text or stop in with questions or concerns between scheduled visits. You don't have to save every question for the next appointment.
