Does my BMI tell the whole story about whether my weight is affecting my health?

No. BMI is a useful screening measure based on height and weight, but it does not distinguish muscle from fat or show where you carry weight. It is one part of the assessment, not a complete description of your health. CDC.

Your health history, blood pressure, relevant laboratory results, physical function and other measurements can add important context.

At MedFIT, treatment decisions should address the patient rather than chase a number in isolation. A BMI result also does not automatically determine which medication is right for you.
