Medical Weight Loss

Why am I hungry again while taking weight-loss medication?

Returning hunger is a reason to review what changed, not automatically increase the dose. Medication effects can change, but sleep, stress, eating patterns, other medicines and changes in health can also matter.

Be specific: are you physically hungry, experiencing cravings, noticing the effect wearing off earlier or eating more despite feeling satisfied? Those are useful distinctions. Hunger returning is also different from a plateau while appetite remains controlled.

At MedFIT, we use that information to reassess whether the current medication or combination still fits your needs.

Next: Note when hunger returns and what else has changed, then discuss it with Valerie before changing treatment yourself.
