Why does losing weight feel harder after 40?
Weight loss can feel harder as your activity, muscle mass, sleep, medicines and daily responsibilities change. For women, the menopause transition can add changes in where weight is carried. Men do not go through that same transition; weight changes should not automatically be attributed to low testosterone. Turning 40 does not suddenly make weight loss impossible or prove that a hormone problem is responsible. NIDDK.
The useful question is what has changed for you. A plan that worked years ago may no longer fit your appetite, schedule or health.
