Should menopause-like symptoms before age 40 be evaluated differently?

Yes. Symptoms or menstrual changes at a younger age deserve evaluation rather than an assumption that this is the usual menopause transition. Early loss of ovarian function is one possibility, but other explanations need consideration too. NHS early-menopause guidance.

The implications can extend beyond symptom relief, including fertility and longer-term health. That makes the history and appropriate testing important.
